About US

Micky Kim immigrated to the US in the late 1970's and started her new life in Baltimore, Maryland. She promised herself that she would one day spread her love for the Korean culture, through food, and that she did in 2007. Micky Kim's hope to spread the warmth, love, and taste of the Korean culture was met with acceptance and loyalty not only by Korean Americans but by all in the community. Honey Pig Annandale's success propelled the opening of Honey Pig Centreville, Virginia, Ellicott City, Rockville, Houston, and Austin. Our Hot Pot + BBQ along with the Honey Cup Coffee concept opened in Manassas in August 2022 and will open another, Hot Pot + BBQ along with Soju Haus in Ellicott City in September 2022.

Honey Pig is a female-lead, minority owned business and has over 350 employees and growing. And with Honey Pig's future endeavors to open more restaurants in the DMV and beyond, Micky Kim is thankful to be able to spread her love of the Korean culture and food.

Smoky meat barbecued Korean-style is the obsession at these K-pop-blaring 24-7 hot spots, as evidenced by the vivid photos of various cuts covering the walls at each location. Meaty beef ribs, spicy pork belly, and thinly sliced bulgogi are the classic choices, but it’s worth branching out for slices of prime rib and boneless pork neck. All are cooked at the table by a flurry of fast-moving servers who fill your plate to make room on the grill for what’s next.

If loving galbi is wrong, don’t wanna be right! Living in the DC area has its profanity-inducing aspects: the often horrific traffic, the astronomical cost of housing and living even leaving the housing out of it, the plethora of people with sticks seemingly stuck up their butts...Ive occasionally wondered if the miseries are sufficiently outweighed by the pleasures. But places like Honeypig, which I’d only locate in cosmopolises such as the DMV, remind me of just how heavy those pleasures can be.

I lived in South Korea for three years and my wife for 14 years; we both loved honey pig. The food was great, it came out quickly, and is as close to a Korean experience as you’re going to get in Northern Virginia!

After many years, still one of my favorite Korean BBQ spots. The atmosphere is fun, the quality is great. Whenever we have guests from out of town or new to KBBQ, we take them here. No matter what we order, the bugolgi can’t be beat. I also think the kimchi pancake is a lot better than a lot of the competition, and the bibambap is my new favorite.
